Lotus, with it's flagship application 'Notes' and the introduction of 'Domino Server' needed to shift industry perception from that of a desktop suites vendor to a major player in the enterprise network arena. Ads ran in Messaging magazine, touting Lotus' messaging products to be platform agnostic and based on an open, modular architecture allowing customers to control migration, choose best-of-breed vendor components and leverage investments into the future.
