The Studio
[ricochet] is a solo design studio + consultancy whose sole purpose is to help clients rise to the surface with smart, simple design solutions that hit the mark creatively and resonate with the people you want to reach. The studio has built a reputation on the belief that memorable work is always rooted in creative ideas backed by informed, intelligent thinking.
[ricochet] partners with clients to tailor straightforward yet original solutions to meet their communications needs. The studio has extensive experience providing art direction and design services for publications, print communications, visual identity and standards-based websites.
As a matter of course the studio provides research, ideation, design, art direction and production management. This includes budgeting and scheduling as well as sourcing and coordinating content development, illustrators and photography, printers, materials, and specialty finishing.
[ricochet] was established in 1980 by Ron Zisman, a communications designer based in Pearl River, New York. The studio is run as a collaborative and frequently teams with other specialists to deliver a wide range of communications initiatives.
Our value comes from the depth and breadth of experience gathered over thirty-plus years managing a process through which intelligent solutions naturally evolve — solutions that address specific, defined problems and specific, defined objectives.
Over the years, the studio's work has received recognition both nationally and internationally including; The International Summit Awards, Columbia School of Journalism's National Magazine Awards, Society of Publication Designers, Printing Industries of America, inclusion in Mead Library of Ideas, as well as recognition from local ad clubs.
Mr. Zisman holds a BFA and MS degree in Communications Design from Pratt Institute in New York.
